Compassionate Educator Tip – Week 3

Where students find safety and trust, teachers will also find the seeds of compassion and engaged learning.

Time spent creating safety and trust in the classroom can create what educators want most — a compassionate learning community where engaged learning flourishes.

Explore with your students the importance of safety and trust for everyone. This could be done in an historical context — the importance it has had, and still has, for all people in all parts of the world. Or, it can be put into present context, to explore current events.

Make it a priority to evaluate together how well your group agreement is working. Continue to refine it to better support safety and trust for all members of the classroom.
